As Seen @ Faculty Meetings

At most every facutly meeting, our TRT introduces a technology tool or resource for use in our classrooms.

These are a couple of my favorites:

1. Wordle

Overview:
Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

  1. I love using Wordle in my classroom. The site you provided that gives 45 ways to use Wordle in the classroom was very helpful! I love the idea of using Wordle as a guess who game. We just finished studying many famous americans and I think this would be a great review game!

  2. I have used Wordle too - so much fun! How great that your TRT does this. I think it must be an overwhelming job, from an administrative standpoint.

  3. I'm impressed about what your TRT has done for you all. What a great idea. Introduce the technology and post up something for everyone to see its use at their leisure. The next step would be for teachers to have a place to post up their students' work or their own. I'm thinking about introducing http://threering.com/ to my teachers to get them started into the idea of digital portfolios. It looks like an easy way to start for those that do not use computers a lot.
